Austin Grand Prix, Jan 13–15
Congratulations to Michael Cohn on his swimming this past weekend at the Austin Grand Prix. Michael competed in 5 events and swam well without giving anything up in training. This was a big meet with many Olympians and Olympic hopefuls. Take a look at the video coverage on the USA Swimming website. Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Nathan Adrian, Janet Evans, Natalie Coughlin, Missy Franklin, and on and on. Fun to watch all of these swimmers fight through a crowded warm up just like everyone else does!
Congrats to Kelvin Roesing, December SOTM! Kelvin is a Novice Level swimmer whom has been promoted to White as of this January 2012. His quiet manner & active listening skills help him succeed in this sport. Kelvin is focused, strong & dedicated throughout all practice sessions. Our coaching staff is looking forward to watching him compete early this year. Thanks Kelvin for a positive end to 2011!

Support the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex—Buy a Tile!!
As you know, the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex is a non-profit organization and an unsubsidized public pool. We rely on the La Jolla community and our loyal user groups to help support the aquatics programs offered at the pool. And so, we are asking for your help.
We are offering a decorative, personally inscribed tile installed on the pool’s donor wall. This is a great opportunity to give “back” to the pool AND to commemorate your child’s aquatic connection with the Coggan pool. Your $500 donation for this tile is tax deductible, and your contribution will help cover the operational costs of the pool and support all the programs offered at Coggan. What could be better, more lasting and memorable than a tile to celebrate your child’s many years at the Coggan pool! Your generosity will help keep the Coggan pool afloat!
Click here for the tile order and inscription forms. You may also access these forms online at www.cfaquatics.org. And you may return order and inscription forms to Anna Siperstein at the pool. Payment arrangements are available too!
Thank you for considering this donation.

Introducing new USA Swimming "Deck Pass" online program and phone app!!
Swimming has long been a sport about achievements. Now, with the launch of USA Swimming’s “Deck Pass”™, a new online and mobile application, swimmers can easily connect with one another and share their achievements with other members of the swimming community.
Deck Pass™ is an innovative digital application that lets swimmers track their best times, set goals and earn digital patches for their accomplishments in the pool. It’s easy, free to use and is designed to let swimmers capture what they’re accomplishing in the water online and then share with their friends and family. Users can access Deck Pass™ online or via a free mobile application.
Deck Pass™ users can choose to connect their accounts with Facebook to share their swimming milestones with their friends and family. The program is also a great motivational tool that is designed to help guide to swimmers to achievements both in and out of the water. For example, if a swimmer swims a best time at a recent meet, they will automatically earn a digital patch celebrating their achievement.
While Deck Pass™ times updates are automatic for USA Swimming members, the application can be used by anyone. Whether you’re a recreational swimmer, a club swimmer or even a coach, Deck Pass™ has something for everyone!
For more information click here to go to the Deck Pass info page!!
